Genki Rockets (元気ロケッツ, Genki Rocket) is a hybrid band made up of unnamed musical artists. The face of the group is a fictional character named Lumi, who is from space, born 30 years in the future. Lumi is 17, was born in space, and has never been to Earth. Lumi’s voice is synthesized by taking samples from several different female singers.
Uniqueness:
Genki Rockets is unique in that it is a band composed entirely of unnamed musicians and that their music videos are entirely computer-generated, including the band’s lead character, Lumi. The visuals are created by Japan’s Glamoove, Inc.^[3] They are also unique in solely using holograms for live performances, such as their performance at Live Earth.^[4]
Recognition:
Heavenly Star was nominated for the Best Song category at the 2006 Spike TV Video Game Awards.

Review: Remember FreeTEMPO? This album is a wonderful, stylish exploration of pop, acoustics, and trance. The songs keep a consistenly uptempo theme, making it both easy to listen to, and very enjoyable. Whimsical acoustics tend to dominate, giving the album a soft sound. ♥ And yet… there’s lots of dance undertones! It’ll pick you up when you’re feeling down. For me, the highlight of this album is the final track – Symmetry (Sound Around Remix). I loved the original version, but this version is even cooler with the voice distortion effects (ala m-flo~ Think ASTROSEXY & Love Me After 12AM specifically). The fleeting piano and ultimate instrumentals help contribute to the happy, carefree atmosphere. ♥ This is a highly recommended release; freeTEMPO doesn’t disappoint!! Check this out for sure!
